How to cook Patatim

Pata palang ulam na!

This sweet and savory dish is worth any calories you're about to indulge lol. Patatim is a Filipino dish made of Pata/Pork leg or pork hock with lots of spices. I still remember my mom cook it for hours to make sure the meat was really tender and melts in your mouth. I really enjoyed it when I was a kid.

A Taste of Life

 Ingredients:

Pork hock or Pork Leg (pata)
1 8oz can of pineapple chunks
1/2 of red onion
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 bay leaves
4 cloves garlic
1/4 cup ginger
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
3 cups water
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 fresh squeeze lemon juice
4  of bok choys
1/4 cup water




Here's How:

*Put the pork in a pot with water. Bring to boil up to 10 minutes.
*Drain the water and Rinse the Pork.
*In a clean pot, put the pork, together with the spices. Pineapple, onion, soysauce, bay leaves, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper, sugar and water. Bring to boil and simmer in low heat for 3-4 hours depending on tenderness of the pork. ***You can also use slow cooker if you want :).***
*Remove the pork and simmer the sauce until it thickens. Then remove it from the pot.
*On the same pan, add bok choy and water. Cook it for 2mins.
